A little bit about me....
Me and Sugar Loaf
I haven't been 'walking' for very long but since it started about 6 years ago on a family holiday, I've been gripped!
We were in the Lake District around Ullswater and, as you do, visited the sites and scenery. Breathtaking!!
Since then, I've tried to see as much of The Great Outdoors as possible (sometimes with family in tow!!) and its taken me down the beautiful road of walk leading and enjoying the hills, mountains, waterfalls, canals, beaches, cliffs, coast and caves with other groups of people who feel the same.
I've enjoyed the coast paths, lakes, exploring the gorgeous National Parks that we have, finding new countryside with the Walking Festivals and now embark on my own journey and continue 'Sharing Wales'.
I also like to take part in volunteer schemes to help let others continue to enjoy this great outdoors, as I already have.
I wanted to give something back to all the people that are involved at the National Trust and Park sites and help out too. I signed up to help the Green Valleys Woodland Community Group based in Talgarth and have undertaken work to clear canopies, saplings and build an otter holt at Park Wood. I'm currently going through training with the Brecon Beacons National Park Upland Path scheme to help make the Black Mountains a more pleasant place to explore.
I have my Rescue and Emergency Care 1st Aid qualification and am working towards the Walking Group Leader qualification with Mountain Training Cymru. I am an experienced map and compass user with keen navigational skills (day or night) and of course, love camping.....be it wild or recreational!!
