I've just applied to take part in the Big Black Mountain Challenge on 18th May this year!
Its the first time I've done it and have decided upon the toughest Route A, a 43km walk whick will probably end up taking me about 12hrs+ to complete!!
The words 'bonkers' and 'nutter' keep coming up!!
I have a great bunch of friends also taking part in the other Routes B (18m) & C (10m), all starting from Llanthony Priory, so it should turn out to be a great day! Its run by the Longtown MRT to aid local funds to be raised for all their amazing work! Respect :)

Its going to be tough but well worth it and I'm strangely looking forward to this mountain/valley/ridge/river/wood circuit! Fingers crossed for a bit of decent weather :)

Welcome all to 2013!! Its going to be a great year for Winsers Walks and walking in general :)
New Years Day saw us hitting the Monmouthshire Countryside with a trip up to Sugar Loaf. The weather was on/off but we did get some blue skies! See link on main menu.
The Happy 'Fit' Year has its starter session on Sunday 6th. I've had a great response to it and should get a good group of 8-10 people, all looking to get outdoors, get fit and all in natures gym :) I'll be looking forward to the future sessions with them, slowly progressing, bigger and better as the weeks and months go on.
The 3Peakers will be meeting up again on the 27th for the Beacons Horseshoe. A good 11mile circular, hitting the hills and summits of Y Garn, Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, Cribyn and Fan Y Big. Got to get those guys 'mountain fit' ready for July!!
Will keep you posted on all things Winsers Walks as the weeks go by.
Thanks for your support in 2012 and long may it continue :)
